Garage Floor Coating in Snohomish, WA

Valley mud and wet tires end up on your garage floor. In Snohomish, the slab under them may be older than your truck. Our garage floor coating turns it into a floor you can squeegee: diamond-ground concrete, full vinyl flake and a clear topcoat. We test for moisture first, and the estimate at your house is free.

Your Snohomish garage floor coating

Task Force Garage installs garage floor coatings anywhere in Snohomish, from old-town alley garages to shops on acreage. We diamond-grind the slab, fill the cracks, then lay a polyurea base coat, full vinyl flake and a clear polyaspartic topcoat. The estimate is free, at your house, with a moisture test first.

Shopping for an epoxy garage floor in Snohomish? What we install is the upgrade over epoxy. You get the same diamond-ground prep and the same flake look, and our floor cures faster. It flexes as the slab moves, it won't yellow in the sun, and your car is back in three days instead of about a week.

A dry slab takes one working day, or two if the meter says yours needs our moisture barrier primer, which cures overnight. You walk on the floor the next morning and park after 72 hours. Then, when November rain drips off your car, it sits on top and a squeegee sends it out the door.

Which Snohomish garage do you have?

Snohomish is three places in one: the old town, the valley floor and the acreage up the hill. Each kind of garage starts in a slightly different spot, so find yours.

Off the alley

Close to one in five homes in town went up before 1940, and the historic blocks put the garage out back. Slabs that old usually have no plastic underneath, plus paint and oil to grind away.

Near the rivers

Low lots by the Snohomish and the Pilchuck sit on wet, silty ground. From November into May the water table can rise within a foot of the surface, so we read those slabs in several spots.

Acreage and a shop

Out toward Three Lakes, Machias or Lord Hill, your garage may be a pole barn with a tractor and a mower in it. You get the same floor system on a bigger slab, at a lower price per square foot.

Old town

The garage behind an old Snohomish house

You know the layout: the porch out front and the garage out back, opening onto the alley. That slab has held cars, firewood and somebody's workbench for decades. You can read its years in the oil spots and the cracks that wander from wall to wall.

Slabs poured before the 1980s usually went down with no plastic sheet underneath, so ground moisture can wick up through them. On an older slab we grind off the paint and stains and fill every crack. Then the moisture meter decides whether the barrier primer goes down before your garage floor coating.

One honest note. If part of your slab has sunk or heaved at a crack, a coating won't level it. We'll point it out at the estimate and tell you straight whether your floor is a coating job at all.

Garage off the alley? Mention it when you book, and we'll plan where our truck parks so your neighbors can still get by.

Valley floor

Did the river reach your garage?

If you live down on the valley floor, the river runs your winter. In December 2025 it crested higher than ever recorded at Snohomish, and water reached front doors on Lincoln Avenue.

Even in a normal winter, the ground down there stays wet. The silty river soil under the low parts of town can hold water within a foot of the surface from November into May. A slab sitting on that pulls moisture up all winter, and your coating has to be ready for it.

So one reading isn't enough. We meter your slab in the middle and along the walls, and we look for white chalky deposits and dark damp patches. A high reading or two of those signs means the moisture barrier primer goes down first, and your job runs two days.

If your garage flooded, let it dry out before you book. We'll tell you at the estimate if it isn't ready yet, even if that pushes your install back a few weeks.

Acreage

Got a shop or a pole barn up the hill?

Live out toward Fobes Hill, Three Lakes or Machias? Your lot likely has room for a shop, and maybe a horse or two. That outbuilding usually has the roughest slab you own.

We test it like any garage, then give it the same floor you'd put in your house garage. A big shop costs you more in total but less per square foot, since our setup is the same. See how we coat shops and pole barns.

Fog on the fields and your Snohomish install day

Some valley mornings start in fog, and on clear winter nights the cold air settles low. Our system cures in a cold garage, so a fall or winter garage floor coating works here once your slab passes the moisture test. Most people call in spring, which leaves more fall and winter dates for you.

  1. Read the slab and the air

Before any grinding, we check your slab against the dew point. The slab and the air both have to stay at least 5°F above it, so on a foggy morning that check sets the start time.

  2. Grind and repair

Diamond grinders take off old paint and the worn top, with the edges done by hand and the dust vacuumed as we go. Cracks and joints get filled and ground flush.

  3. Barrier primer, if the meter asks

It goes onto your bare, ground concrete and cures overnight, which makes it a two-day job.

  4. Base coat and full flake

The polyurea base coat goes down, and we broadcast vinyl flake into it until no gray shows through.

  5. Clear topcoat with grit

We scrape and vacuum the loose flake, then roll on the clear topcoat with anti-slip grit. You can walk on it tomorrow and park on it after 72 hours.

Questions

Snohomish garage floor coating questions

How much does garage floor coating cost in Snohomish?

Across the Seattle area, most pro-installed two-car floors run about $1,600 to $5,800, and three-car garages cost more. Where yours lands depends on the size, the cracks, any old paint to grind off and whether your slab needs the moisture barrier. You'll get the exact number in writing after the free estimate. See prices by garage size.

Do you install epoxy garage floors in Snohomish?

We install the upgrade over an epoxy garage floor: a polyurea base coat, full flake and a clear polyaspartic topcoat over a diamond-ground slab. It has the flake look people picture when they say epoxy. It also cures in a cold valley garage, flexes with the slab and won't yellow, and you park on it in three days instead of about a week. Epoxy and our floor, side by side.

Our garage flooded. Can it still be coated?

In most cases, yes, once it has dried out. Floodwater soaks deep into concrete, so give it time first. At the estimate we take readings in several spots and look for chalky deposits and damp patches. If the slab still reads wet, we'll tell you to wait. When it's ready, the moisture barrier primer usually goes down first, and the install takes two days.

Can you coat the garage of a century-old house?

Usually, yes. Age matters less than what's on the slab and under it. We grind off old paint and sealer, fill the cracks and meter the moisture, since a slab that old almost surely has no plastic underneath. If part of it has sunk or heaved, a coating won't level it, and we'll tell you that at the estimate.

Do you coat shop and pole barn floors around Snohomish?

Yes. A shop or pole barn gets the same concrete coating as a garage. Those slabs often went in on gravel with no vapor sheet, so the moisture test matters even more, and the barrier is common. We coat tight around posts and drains, and a mid-tone flake hides mud from a gravel drive between sweeps. More on shop floors.

Can you install a garage floor coating in winter in the valley?

Yes. Our system cures in a cold garage, which epoxy struggles to do. What we watch is the dew point. Your slab and the air must stay at least 5°F above it, so on a foggy morning we check before the base coat goes down. Winter is also when the ground is wettest, so your slab gets our most careful moisture read.

Is a coated garage worth it if we're selling?

If you're listing this spring, a full Premium floor may be more than you need, and we'll say so. A cleaned, coated garage does photograph well, so ask us about our Original floor. If you're staying a few years, a floor that wipes clean and shrugs off another valley winter is much easier to justify.

Which parts of Snohomish County do you cover?

All of Snohomish, in town and out: the historic district, Pilchuck and Blackmans Lake, plus Fobes Hill, Three Lakes, Machias and Lord Hill. South of town we cover Clearview, Cathcart, Maltby and Mill Creek East. Next door we cover Lake Stevens, Everett and Mill Creek too. Not sure about your road? Call (206) 895-7444 and ask.
