Salt off the Boeing Freeway in January, your boat trailer dripping Possession Sound in July, and a slab nobody has ever sealed. Our garage floor coating gives your concrete full flake under a clear topcoat you can wipe clean. The estimate is free, at your house.
Task Force Garage puts down garage floor coatings across Mukilteo, WA, from Old Town to Harbour Pointe. Each floor starts with a moisture test and a diamond grind. Then comes a polyurea base coat, a full broadcast of vinyl flake and a clear polyaspartic topcoat with anti-slip grit. The estimate is free, at your house.
Pricing epoxy flooring in Mukilteo? What we install is the upgrade over an epoxy floor. The grind and the flake look are the same. Ours cures faster and flexes with the slab, and the sun won't yellow it. You park on it after 72 hours, where epoxy usually keeps the car out about a week.
Mukilteo's garages are younger than most around here. About half the homes here date from 1990 or later, many of them in Harbour Pointe. A younger slab is usually sound, which helps your price. It still gets tested, because the building code never asked for plastic under a garage slab.
We'll show you the readings and leave a written price with every line on it. Take your time deciding.

Most garages in town fall into one of three groups, and each one asks something a little different of your floor.
Harbour Pointe went up from the late 1980s on, so your slab has had a few decades of tires on it. Expect cracks along the control joints and oil stains from the cars before yours. Grinding takes care of both, and full flake hides the patches.
Homes near the bluffs and gulches trade flat ground for the view over Possession Sound. If your garage sits below the yard on one side, that wall gets our first moisture reading, and cove base keeps the edge easy to wipe.
Up the hill from the ferry and the lighthouse, the town's oldest streets have slabs poured before plastic under a slab was common. We grind off old paint and patches, and the moisture test tells us if the barrier goes in.
Most of Mukilteo sits on a plateau above Possession Sound. Dig a couple of feet down up here and you'll often hit hardpan, the dense glacial layer every gardener in town has cursed at least once.
From December through April, rain soaks down to that layer and sits on it, just under your garage slab. That's why a winter garage floor coating gets our most careful moisture reading, even in a newer garage.
The building code adds a wrinkle. It asks for a plastic sheet under the floors you live on, but it exempts garages. So plenty of garage slabs went in without one, newer homes included. One high reading, or two warning signs like white chalky deposits and dark damp patches, and our moisture barrier primer goes down first.
A sound, dry slab needs nothing extra, and your floor goes down in one day. You'll know which one you have at the estimate.

The convergence zone loves this stretch of the county, so the plateau can get snow on days Seattle only gets rain. WSDOT even tells drivers to rinse their cars after a storm. Here's what that means for the floor under yours.

Your trailer backs into Possession Sound at the launch and rides home wet with salt water. It drips while you rinse your boat, and on bare concrete those salty rings stay put.
On a coated floor the salt water sits on top, and the hose you're already holding sends it out the door. Set a small pad under your trailer jack, and your floor won't mind a boat living on it all winter.
Your kayaks, crab pots and wet waders get the same easy cleanup. Want a workbench corner for your gear? Our shop floor coating page covers heavier use.

If your slab is dry, it's one working day. If it needs the barrier primer, plan on two. Fall and winter work too, and those months usually have more open dates, since most people call in spring.
You move the cars and everything on the floor. In the morning we re-check your slab's moisture and tape your walls.
Diamond grinders open up your slab, each one hooked to a vacuum, and we do the edges by hand. Your cracks and joints get filled and ground flush.
On a two-day job, the barrier primer cures overnight on your bare slab first. Then the polyurea base goes down, and we broadcast flake until no base shows.
We vacuum the loose flake and roll on the topcoat with anti-slip grit. You can walk on it the next morning and park after 72 hours.

You have four common ways to cover a garage floor. Here's how each one holds up in a damp Mukilteo garage, best first.
If you're weighing epoxy, here's how an epoxy garage floor holds up around Seattle.

These are Seattle-area market ranges for pro-installed floors, across coating types. Your own price comes in writing, line by line, after the estimate.

If your address says Mukilteo, 98275, you're covered, whatever street you're on. Here's the lay of the land, plus the areas just outside the city line.

Basements, shops, walkways and even bathrooms take the same flake floor. See basement floors and patios and walkways, or try a color on a photo of your own garage.

Across the Seattle area, most pro-installed two-car floors run $1,600 to $5,800, and three-car floors cost more. A sound Harbour Pointe slab often lands lower in its range than an old, cracked one. Your written price comes after the free estimate, and our cost guide has the full breakdown.
It can work in a warm, dry summer, but it's fussy here. Epoxy needs a warm slab to cure, keeps your car out for about a week and yellows where the sun hits it. We install the upgrade over epoxy, a polyurea base under a clear polyaspartic topcoat with the same flake look, and your car is back in three days.
Maybe. The code never required plastic under a garage slab, so a 1990s slab can still pull moisture up, and the hardpan under the plateau keeps water close in winter. We meter-test your slab and look for chalky deposits and damp patches. If it reads dry and shows no signs, your floor goes down in one day.
It won't get in. WSDOT's anti-icer is calcium chloride, a type of salt, and bare concrete soaks it up and dries out over and over all winter. On a coated floor it sits on top. Rinse or mop after a stretch of icy weather, and nothing builds up.
Yes. The topcoat takes the weight and the drips. Set a small pad or a square of plywood under the tongue jack, so its foot doesn't press on one spot. Rinse the salt water off when you get home, and a squeegee handles the rest.
Our floors use polyaspartic as the clear topcoat, over a polyurea base coat. That pairing is what we install across the Seattle area. The base bonds hard to a ground slab, and the polyaspartic top stays clear in the sun. Ask us to walk you through the layers at the estimate.
Walk on it the next morning, and park on it after 72 hours. Most garages take one working day, or two if your slab needs the barrier primer. Work shifts at the plant? Tell us your schedule when you book, and we'll pick days that fit.
Yes. We cover all of 98275, from Old Town and Chennault Beach to Harbour Pointe and Olympus Terrace, plus the areas just outside: Picnic Point, Lake Serene and Lake Stickney. Neighbors in Everett, Edmonds and Lynnwood are covered too. Not sure your street counts? Give us a call and ask.
We'll measure, run the moisture test and price your floor in writing, line by line. Every floor carries a lifetime adhesion warranty, and there's no pressure to sign.
